The EN-EL15b from Nikon is a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery which serves as a spare or replacement for the one provided with the camera. It powers select Nikon cameras (check compatibility list below) and can be recharged by the MH-25/MH-25a chargers. Lithium-ion batteries will not suffer from the adverse memory effects that are normally associated with other battery types, hence, this battery offers long life and consistent power.
